So can anyone PLEASE PLEASE authoritatively confirm whether or not compnents you put into COLLECTOR weapons can be salvaged back out or not. I have been asking around in game but always get conflicting answers. I know the update mentions collectors armours, but nothing is said about colelctor weapons. So if anyone here can give a definitive answer, it would be much appreciated.

Test it yourself
Get a very cheap upgrade, put it in a cheap Collector weapon, then try to salvage it out. If it can't salvage out, you exchanged <200g for that knowledge

Ok I have tried it, and the result is:
*Drum Roll*
It is NOT possible to salvage components out of collector weapons.
On a side note, does anyone want to buy a (Collectors) Longsword of Enchanting? :P
15-22dmg +15%dmg when enchanted
Enchantments last 10% longer

Thing is, who would wanna salvage a perfect weapon 12/20/20? That logic is fallably stupid. Perfect collector's weapons will help out starters who don't wanna have to shell out 50-100plats just to do great. It gives them the same performance for 10X cheaper, yet they all like LoL Collectors... Anyway, just to point, most of these guys are just morons and only demean a great item simply cause it doesn't have that GOLD LETTERING that they can brag to their online friends .
Also, you can salvage collector's armors but not quest given weapons and collector's weapons.

Is there a collecter who gives max dmg longswords. Not the black ones. The shiny ones.

The thing is, there are no collector weapons which give +dmg when hp>50%, which is considered by some to be the most desirable mod on a weapon. Therefore, while waiting till you get enough money to buy your dream weapon, deciding whether or not to put that +29hp hilt or grip on the collectors weapon might become an issue.

Uhm, haven't you read the posts before yours? You are making a prime example of why... ah, nevermind. If someone cares about what their armor or weapon looks like, then use an inferior -=GOLD=- RARE OMGOMG!!!111 you bought in LA for the amount of your entire savings. Personally, if I could get an Ascalon Plastic Butterknife +15% >50% 22-29 from a collector... I'd be stabbing with it. It's all about stats not looks. Graphics are eye candy. You can enhance a good game with them, but you can't prop up a bad one. Well maybe you can... but only if you make the female toon's breasts jiggle when she moves.
I do keep drops on occasion. On those incredibly rare times something unique and with complementary bumps that, in certain instances, are better than a collector item, I keep it. It's a trophy. However I'd much prefer selling it to one of the image-obsessed: Perfect Gold Flellblade, pre-dyed black, matches your fissure armor perfectly, incl. your choice of hilt/pommel, c/o 122K!! WHISPER BID!!
(You want to create an economy where none exists? I WILL HELP YOU.)

The reason i asked is not for looks its cause i have alot of collecters weapons including the black longsword. Its something i do when im bored is collect stuff from collecters who cares about looks not me. I would use a purple 2 by 4 if they had it in there and it was a good stats.

!111ONE... So what if I care about looks of my avatar? How does this make me inferior to you? Unless there is some big difference in effectivness, I, myself, prefer looks. Not enough to pay ridicilous amount of gold for it, but enough to keep slightly worse weapon/armor if it looks better than new one.

Mind telling us where these may be found? Cos I have been keeping close watch on collector locations in the tools and resources forum, and NONE of the collectors listed in the desert or shiverpeaks have +dmg when hp>50%. There are also NO collectors at all in the Ring of fire island chain. So if you have somehow bettered the 10+ people in the collector location thread and found a collector who gives max dmg +15%dmg when hp>50%, why don't you post a screenie?

I picked up 4 bows, 2 flat, 2 short, both +15% >50% in Mineral Springs... short is from the dwarf by the bridge (mountain troll tusks) and flat is from the chick beside the far north respawn shrine near the ice cave. (alpine seeds)
I've never looked for swords because I rarely run my W with swordsmanship, but of the many collectors that trade max damage longswords I'm willing to bet one of them is the >50% qualification one. (since you can't see the bump w/o getting it, we need to get everyone to start participating in the "collector locations" thread.)

Negative!
Its 15-22 dmg (req.9 Swordsmanship) Damage +15% (While enchanted)! It's similar or identic to "Rin Blade" (ugliest sword ever).
